Embracing the beauty of seeing and being seen is much more liberating.
My latest Psychology Today post is a take down of "Dance Like No One's Watching" -- So what if they were watching and *judging*? How about instead embracing our own inner guide and recognizing that we control our effort, not the opinions of others on the dance floor and in life... 🕺🪩
This is a personal one for me -- I've had a hard time embracing dance, for fear of doing it wrong and out of an untrue belief that I'm just not someone who can dance. But now it's a big part of not just my life, but my journey to being at home in my mind and in my body. How's dance been for you?

A few takeaways
Someone watching (and *judging*) us on the dance floor isn’t the problem—it’s internalizing the judgment that holds us back.
"Let them" judge, and instead root yourself in your own joy, growth, and sense of self.
When we watch others with appreciation, not comparison, we rediscover our shared humanity.
In work, as in dancing, we thrive when we let go of the pressure to be perfect.
New Columbia Swing, a great place to dance and where I learned to swing dance, captured this picture of me!
